Industry Insights - February 2021

Updated: Mar 26, 2021

One year after the beginning of the unprecedented sanitary crisis, how are things looking on our end? Working with our clients last year, we analyzed three important trends. We expect they keep going strong for the next few months.

1. Online shopping is thriving

The Covid crisis surely has brought growth for the e-commerce pure players, marketplaces, and e-retailers. Consumer behavior is shifting due to the pandemic, and as a result, online shopping has surged in many countries over the world.

Among others, Zalando (whom we work with), Boohoo or Asos to name a few in Europe, are taking advantage of their good position on the market to appeal to younger customers, thanks to a rich product assortment, a well-functional App/Website, and good return policies.

2. Appeal for small (and cheap) accessories

Our sales team has seen a huge surge in demand for smaller and cheaper items. Think about it... End-customers don't want to spend their money on one expensive item, rather, how nice would it be to buy several cheaper and cute/small items? Phone bags, cosmetic bags, earpods case, etc. The list goes on. For clients, smaller items also mean cheaper transportation costs.

3. Hungry for sustainability

Sustainability is slowly catching up among fast-fashion retailers. From the utilization of Water-base PU, or recycled materials, many clients are looking toward more sustainable-driven collections or products, most often for marketing and company core mission's purposes. To do that, it is necessary to look for certificates in the industry.

Our collaborating factory will obtain the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certificate in March 2021. We talk about it in a previous article. We are looking forward to provide our collaborators with our ODM/OEM services !
